Lamp Lighting for Blessing on New Year’s Day

Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple successfully held the lamp lighting for blessings on New Year’s Day. The devotees sincerely pay homage to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, lighting lamps to pray for protection, and cultivating blessed merits.
May the New Year bring auspiciousness like cultivating good seed that bears fruits in the future.

Devotees light the bright lamps containing wisdom, blessings, and hope for themselves, their parents, family and friends. Just as light drives out darkness and illuminates life, the devotees also wish the world to be at peace and free from wars, natural and human disasters. May the world be blessed with peace and prosperity, and everyone can live and work in tranquility, contentment, and satisfaction.

The lamps of light lit in this event are protected by the Twelve Divine Generals of Medicine Buddha, distinguished by the twelve Chinese zodiac signs. The devotees light the lamp to pray for blessings according to their Chinese zodiac signs, holding the light in their hands while lighting the self-nature lamp in their hearts. A ceremony of paying homage to Medicine Buddha Repentance was held on the same day.

Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple also distributed Eight-treasure porridge to visitors during lunchtime. In addition to forming good relationships with the public, Sau Seng Lum wishes everyone good health and prosperity.
