1982

  • Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the the first Ullambana Puja Ceremony in the 7th lunar month of 1982. This one-month long puja has since become the tradition and regular event of Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple during the 7th lunar month. Its main purpose is to promote filial piety and the spirit of liberating the others through compassionate dharma activities.

1998 till 2000

  • Conducted the Dharma Sunday Class for the benefits of purifying the mind and cultivation of wisdom. This Dharma Sunday Class invited volunteers to conduct various classes or workshops such as Chinese calligraphy, flowers arrangement, cooking, baking, Chinese painting etc.
  • Formed Junior Education Enrichment Centre to provide special training to the children for the cultivation of their creativity and skills, in order to have the ability to fulfill their work responsibility and live harmoniously with the others with disciplines, good manners and embracing power.

1999

  • 6th October (till 2015) - The 1st issue of Sau Seng Lum Newsletter was launched. Since then, 100,000 copies were distributed free for every issue.

2000

  • 9th September (till 2003) - Sau Seng Lum held the launching ceremony for the computer lab and library which was has been in preparation for two years.

2002

  • 22nd March - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple has conducted the 1st Eight Precepts Group Practice and cordially invited Master Bo Yuan to offer the refuge vows to the public. People who are always busy at work are able to practise and calm their mind with such opportunities.

2003

  • 6th April - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre was officially opened for the promotion of cultural and educational activities.
  • 6th to 12th April - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted a 7-day Shurangama Sutra Grand Puja for the Living and The Deceased. The Master Ching Hsin and 30 high monks led the chant of the Surangama Sutra.
  • 28th September - The inauguration ceremony of the 500 Arhats was held at Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre.
  • 16th November - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted its 1st Happy Children’s Day Camp.
  • 22nd November - The 500 Arhats Exhibition had entered The Malaysia Book of Records and accredited as a tourist attraction destination by the Ministry of Culture, Education Arts & Tourism.

2005

  • 10th to 16th April - Sau Seng Lum conducted the 2nd Shurangama Sutra Grand Puja for the Living and The Deceased and invited the President of the World Chinese Buddhist Sangha Council, the Master Ching Hsin and his entourage to grace the ceremony.

2006

  • 8th April - Jing Xiu Xuan Tea Room officially opened to offer a quiet space for visitors to enjoy tea and to calm their busy minds.
  • 17th to 21st June - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre was the main organiser of The 9th Sakyadhita International Conference on Buddhist Women. Buddhist organisations from 45 countries have attended this international grand conference.

2008

  • March - Jing Xiu An Memorial Museum was set up to exhibit precious photos of the history records, collection of Buddha statues, and all the other historical and cultural art collection by Master Chi Jian.

2011

  • 1st January - Ground breaking ceremony was conducted for the Sau Seng Lum Inner Bliss Sanctuary. Among the activities conducted were “Indulging In Nature One Day Camp”, “Presenting A Gift Of Love To Parents”, “We are Family - A day of Outdoor Gathering” , “Let's Boost Happiness”, Flying The Kites, Listen To The Wind" kites design competition etc.

2012

  • 23rd January - Heart Sutra Maze Hall of Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre officially opened to public. The visitors can experience the essence of Heart Sutra by walking through the maze, to know oneself and unfold freedom of one's life.

2013

  • 10th February - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre opened its Triple Gems Joyous Garden as a tourist attraction.
  • 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th April, 12th and 19th May - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre launched and conducted its 1st Children Dharma Class. This programme aims to cultivate mindfulness, happiness and dharma in life among the children.
  • 25th August - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted its 1st Grand Aspirations of Thousand People Puja, gathered the kindness of great aspirations of all to pray for the families and country through mantra recitation.

2014

  • Since the month of March, Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple launched and conducted the Adult Dharma Class on every Saturday (7pm - 9pm).
  • 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th June and 6th July - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 2nd Children Dharma Class.
  • 12th to 13th July - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the 2nd two days one night Eight Precepts Group Practice.
  • 10th August - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the 2nd Grand Aspirations of Thousand People Puja.

2015

  • Night of 31st December 2014 to noon of 1st January 2015 - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 1st New Year Vows-Fulfilling Medicine Buddha Mantra.
  • February - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre officially opened The Great Wall of Buddha ~ Shrine of the Medicine Buddha to the public. This shrine exhibits Lapis Lazuli Light Buddha, Seven Medicine Buddhas, Eight Boddhisatvas, 12 protectors etc. It provides a grand auspicious view of thousand buddhas, that graced the earth as pure land for the purification of the mind.
  • Since the month of March, Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the The Group Practice of Medicine Buddha on every second and fourth Sunday of the month (11am to 12 noon).
  • 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th June, 5th and 12th July - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 3rd Children Dharma Class.
  • 25th to 26th July - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the 3rd two days one night Eight Precepts Group Practice.
  • 19th July and 9th August - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted A day of Buddha Ksitigarbha.
  • 2nd August - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the 3rd Grand Aspirations of Thousand People Puja.

2016

  • Night of 31st December 2015 to noon of 1st January 2016 - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 2nd New Year Vows-Fulfilling Medicine Buddha Mantra.
  • 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th June and 3rd July - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 4th Children Dharma Class.
  • 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th July - Prior to the Ullammbana Puja in the month of July, Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted four consecutive sessions of Ksitigarbha Sutra Group Practice on every Saturday.

2017

  • 1st January - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 3rd New Year Vows-Fulfilling Medicine Buddha Mantra, practising mantra recitation and transcribing the Medicine Buddha Mantra. In addition, on the same day, the Taking Refuge to the Triple Gem Ceremony was successfully held.
  • 28th January to 11th February - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted a 15-day Chinese New Year Blessing and Chanting Ceremony. Besides, Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre was also open to the public for 15 consecutive days.
  • 26th February, 26th March, 9th and 23rd April, 23rd July, 8th and 22nd October, 19th November - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted a total of 8 sessions of the 2nd Medicine Buddha Sutra Group Practice.
  • 12th March, 9th July and 5th November - In conjunction with the celebration of Guan Yin Bodhisattva Festival, Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted 3 sessions of The Universal Gate Chapter Group Practice.
  • 19th March - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 48th Happy Children's Day Camp with the theme Dealing With Your Anger.
  • 1st to 2nd April - In conjunction with the 115th-anniversary celebration, Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted a two-day Calamity Dispelling, Auspicious & Cheng Ming Puja.
  • 10th May - In conjunction with Wesak Day, Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the 36th Ten Thousand Brilliant Lights Offering To The Buddha, bathing of the Buddha and held a series of celebration activities. In addition, Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre was also open to welcome the public to participate in lamp lighting, bathing of the Buddha, etc.
  • 14th May - Sau Seng Lu, (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the group practice of The Sutra Of The Profound Kindness Of Parents And The Difficulties In Repaying Them, and also lighted the lamp of blessing for parents.
  • 28th May - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 49th Happy Children's Day Camp with the theme Own Up To Your Mistakes.
  • 4th, 11th and 18th June, 2nd and 9th July - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 5th Children Dharma Class.
  • 29th July, 5th, 12th and 19th August - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the 36th Ksitigarbha Sutra Congregation.
  • 22nd to 19th September - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the 1-month 36th Ullambana Puja.
  • 7th, 14th and 21st October, 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th November - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted 7 classes of Sunday practice (Dharma teaching) on Avamantaka Sutra Purifying Practices.
  • 26th November - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 50th Happy Children's Day Camp with the theme Cultivate Good Habits, Overcome Your Laziness.

2018

  • 1st January - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 4th New Year Vows-Fulfilling Medicine Buddha Mantra, practising mantra recitation and transcribing the Mangala Sutra. In addition, on the same day, the Taking Refuge to the Triple Gem Ceremony was successfully held.
  • 3rd February - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the Eighty-eight Buddha Consecration Ceremony.
  • 16th February to 2nd March - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted a 15-day Chinese New Year Blessing and Chanting Ceremony. Besides, Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre was also open to the public for 15 consecutive days.
  • 18th March - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 51st Happy Children's Day Camp with the theme Do Your Own Chores.
  • 7th to 8th April - In conjunction with the 116th-anniversary celebration, Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted a two-day Calamity Dispelling, Auspicious & Cheng Ming Puja.
  • 29th May - In conjunction with Wesak Day, SSL Buddhist Temple conducted the 37th Ten Thousand Brilliant Lights Offering To The Buddha, bathing of the Buddha and held a series of celebration activities. In addition, Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre was also opened to welcome the public to participate in lamp lighting, bathing of the Buddha, etc.
  • 10th June - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 52nd Happy Children's Day Camp with the theme Achieving A Tranquil Peace Of Mind.
  • 24th June, 2nd, 8th, 15th and 22nd July - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 6th Children Dharma Class.
  • 14th, 21st and 28th July, 4th August - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the 37th Ksitigarbha Sutra Congregation.
  • 11th August to 9th September - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the 1-month 37th Ullambana Puja.

  • 6th and 7th April - In conjunction with the 117th-anniversary celebration, Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted a two-day Calamity Dispelling, Auspicious & Cheng Ming Puja.

  • 24th November - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 56th Happy Children's Day Camp with the theme My Love Makes The World A Much More Beautiful Place To Live In.
  • 8th December - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the Amitabha Sutra Group Practice on the eve of Amitabha Buddha Festival.

2020

  • 1st January - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 6th New Year Vows-Fulfilling Medicine Buddha Mantra.
  • 25th January to 8th February - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted a 15-day Chinese New Year Blessing and Chanting Ceremony.
  • 25th January (1st day of the 1st Lunar Month) - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre opened the Wish Fulfilling Pavilion for the first time, presenting the Pure Land of Crystal Radiance with high-tech projection technology.
  • 22nd to 23rd February - In conjunction with the 118th-anniversary celebration, Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted a two-day Calamity Dispelling, Auspicious & Cheng Ming Puja.
  • 22nd February - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted a Blessing Ceremony to pray for the early elimination of COVID-19.

Starting from 18th March, 2020, due to the Movement Control Order (MCO) in response to the COVID-19, Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple and Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre were temporarily closed, and many activities have switched to the form of worship and live streaming.

  • 4th April - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted a live broadcast of the Cheng Ming Group Practice. The worshipping, chanting, and transferring of merits were performed by Sau Seng Lum, praying for the world to survive the pandemic safely.
  • 7th May - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted a live broadcast, praying for blessings and meditation with devotees. As for the 39th Ten Thousand Brilliant Lights Offering To The Buddha, Sau Seng Lum performed the lamp lighting on behalf of the devotees.
  • 25th July, 1st, 8th, 15th, 19th and 26th August, 2nd September - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the 39th Ksitigarbha Sutra Congregation consisting of 7 sessions through live streaming.
  • 19th August to 16th September - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the 1-month 39th Ullambana Puja and restricted the number of people through reservations to avoid crowds.

2021

  • 1st January - The 7th New Year Vows-Fulfilling Medicine Buddha Mantra was successfully held in Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple through live streaming for the first time. In addition, on the same day, the online Taking Refuge to the Triple Gem Ceremony was successfully held.
  • 12th to 26th February - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted a 15-day Chinese New Year Blessing and Chanting Ceremony. The temple is not open to the public, and the prayer was performed by the monks during this period. Besides, Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre is also temporarily closed.
  • 10th to 11th April - In conjunction with the 119th-anniversary celebration, Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted a two-day Calamity Dispelling, Auspicious & Cheng Ming Puja. During this period, Sau Seng Lum restricted the number of people entering the temple, and devotees were encouraged to stay safe at home.
  • 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th May, 5th and 12th June - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the Eighty-eight Buddha Online Group Practice.
  • 26th May - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the Online Prayer for Blessing on Wesak Day through live streaming. As for the 40th Ten Thousand Brilliant Lights Offering To The Buddha, Sau Seng Lum performed the lamp lighting on behalf of the devotees. All Wesak Day physical activities at Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre remain suspended.
  • 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st July - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the 40th Ksitigarbha Sutra Congregation through live streaming.
  • 8th August to 6th September - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the 1-month 40th Ullambana Puja and restricted the number of people through reservations to avoid crowds.
  • 25th September, 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th October, 6th and 13th November - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted a total of 8 sessions of The Universal Gate Chapter Group Practice every Saturday.

2022

  • 1st January - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 8th New Year Vows-Fulfilling Medicine Buddha Mantra. The activity was carried out following the pandemic prevention standard operating procedures.
  • 1st to 15th February - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted a 15-day Chinese New Year Blessing and Chanting Ceremony. The temple is not open to the public, and the prayer was performed by the monks during this period. Besides, Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre is also temporarily closed.
  • 10th February - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple organised Chinese New Year Blessing Ceremony, may our country prosper and nation be at peace, and the pandemic will be eliminated as soon as possible.
  • Starting from 6th March - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducts a one-hour group practice every Sunday from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm.
  • 9th to 10th April - In conjunction with the 120th-anniversary celebration, Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted a two-day Calamity Dispelling, Auspicious & Cheng Ming Puja. The Karunika-raja Prajnaparamita Sutra was recited to pray for the relief from disaster and receive blessings.
  • 15th May - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple and Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre once again organised physical activities to celebrate Wesak Day with devotees.
  • 3rd, 10th, 16th and 23rd July - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the 41st Ksitigarbha Sutra Congregation through two physical sessions and two live streaming sessions.
  • 17th July - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the Taking Refuge to the Triple Gem Ceremony.
  • 29th July to 26th August - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted the 1-month 41st Ullambana Puja.
  • 9th October - Prior to the Guan Yin Bodhisattva Festival, Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted The Universal Gate Chapter Group Practice.
  • 23rd October - Prior to the Medicine Buddha Festival, Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the Medicine Buddha Sutra Group Practice.
  • 18th December - The 84 Manifestation Statues of the Great Compassion Mantra enshrined in Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple opened for devotees to light the lamps and pray.

2023

  • 1st January - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 9th New Year Vows-Fulfilling Medicine Buddha Mantra. In addition, on the same day, Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple organised the Lamp Lighting for Blessing on New Year's Day.
  • 22nd January to 5th February - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted a 15-day Chinese New Year Blessing and Chanting Ceremony.
  • 4th, 11th and 25th March, 8th and 15th April - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple conducted Diamond Sutra Chanting and Group Practice.
  • 10th March - Sau Seng Lum Buddhist Temple organised the Lamp Lighting for Blessing event, and performed the recitation of the Great Compassionate Repentance.
  • 12th March - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted The Universal Gate Chapter Group Practice.
  • 19th March - Sau Seng Lum (Puchong) Exhibition Centre conducted the 57th Happy Children's Day Camp with the theme Being Kind Every Day Makes Me Happier.
